OFFICIAL REGULATIONS
1. Categories and General Structure
Break Point will organize 8 official ranking tournaments throughout the year in the following categories:
Category D
Category C
Category B
At the end of the 8 regular dates, a final tournament called BP Finals will be played.
Regular tournaments will generally be played in a single-elimination format . If a category does not reach the minimum number of players for this format, alternative formats described in these rules will apply.
2. Official Dates of the 2026 Ranking
Date 1: January 31st and February 1st
Registration closes: Thursday, January 29
Date 2: February 28 and March 1
Registration closes: Thursday, February 26
Date 3: April 4th and 5th
Registration closes: Thursday, April 2
Date 4: May 2nd and 3rd
Registration closes: Thursday, April 30
Date 5: July 4th and 5th
Registration closes: Thursday, July 2
Date 6: August 1 and 2
Registration closes: Thursday, July 30
Date 7: September 5th and 6th
Registration closes: Thursday, September 3
Date 8: October 3 and 4
Registration closes: Thursday, October 1st
BP Finals: November 7-15
3. Official Ball
The official ball of the Break Point Tennis Ranking 2026 will be:

4. Match Format
All matches will be played in the best of three (3) sets .
Sets
Each set is played to 6 games .
In case of a 6-6 tie, a tiebreak to 7 points will be played, with a minimum difference of 2.
Third Set
In case of a tie at one set per player, the match will be decided by a match tie-break to 10 points , with a minimum difference of 2.
5. Pressure Point Rule
Applies to 40-40 ties .
A single decisive point is at stake.
The receiver chooses the side of the field.
The winner of the point wins the game.
6. Scoring System – Regular Tournaments
Points are awarded according to the round reached:
Champion: 500 points
Finalist: 330 points
Semifinalists: 200 points
Quarter-finals: 100 points
Round of 16: 50 points
Round of 32: 25 points
For a category to take place, a minimum of 4 registered players is required.
7. Alternative Formats Based on Number of Players
4 or 5 players – Round Robin
Everyone plays against everyone else once.
1st place (Champion): 500 points
2nd place: 330 points
3rd place: 200 points
4th place: 100 points
5th place: 50 points
6 players – Two groups of 3
Two groups are formed.
The winner of each group advances to the final.
Points:
Champion: 500
Finalist: 330
2nd place in group: 200
3rd place in group: 100
7 players – One group of 4 and one of 3
The first place team in each group advances to the final.
Points:
Champion: 500
Finalist: 330
2nd place in group: 200
3rd place: 100
4th place: 50
8 or more players
Direct elimination.
Standard score according to the round reached.
8. BP Finals
The BP Finals will be played only with the 8 best players in each category according to the accumulated ranking.
Format
Two groups of 4 players (round robin).
The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals.
Semifinals and final to determine the BP Finals champion.
9. Category Promotions
A player can be promoted in the following ways:
Immediate promotion by participation in a higher category: If a player registers in two categories and wins at least one match in the higher category , he will be automatically disqualified from continuing to play in the lower category from that moment on.
Promotion by annual ranking: The player who finishes 1st in accumulated points in their category after the 8 regular dates.
Promotion via BP Finals: The winner of the BP Finals must play a decisive match against the 2nd place in the annual ranking .
The winner of that match will be promoted.
This match will be scheduled on a separate date .
10. Planting System
The plantings will be based on the updated ranking .
The highest-ranked players will not face each other in the early rounds.
On Matchday 1 in 2026 , seeding will be based on the final 2025 ranking .
11. Conduct and Fair Play
Sportsmanship is expected at all times.
The following will not be tolerated:
Verbal or physical abuse
Racket throwing
Unsportsmanlike conduct
Break Point reserves the right to apply sanctions or disqualification .
12. Registration and Punctuality
Registrations
Payment must be made before registration closes .
Late registrations will not be accepted .
Punctuality
Delay greater than 15 minutes implies automatic default .
There will be no refunds.
It is recommended to arrive 15 minutes early .

All official ranking information will be communicated via:

FINAL PROVISION
Break Point reserves the right to make operational adjustments necessary for the proper development of the ranking, always maintaining the sporting and competitive spirit of the tournament.
